Experience the Solar Eclipse from Humain
On Wednesday, 12 August 2026, Belgium will witness a spectacular partial solar eclipse, with almost 90% of the Sun covered by the Moon. The eclipse reaches its maximum just before sunset, making this a truly memorable event.
To celebrate the occasion, the Royal Observatory of Belgium is exceptionally opening its Radio Astronomy Station in Humain (Marche-en-Famenne). With an unobstructed view of the horizon, it's the perfect location to enjoy the eclipse (weather permitting).

The Planetarium will not be organising any viewing events for the solar eclipse on 12 August, as visibility will be very limited from the area around the Planetarium, with the Sun low on the horizon.
However, solar eclipse glasses are still available from the Planetarium shop for 2.70 euros.
